How can I make extra money to buy a new LCD TV?

I want to purchase a new TV, but funds are a little tight right now. Are there any good ways to make some extra money legally, or is it better to just wait?

Do what i did! Offload all old clothes, junk, bric a brac on ebay or have a yard sale or something. Get your mates and family to give you their unwanted items and give them a bit of commision! Worked a treat for me and a quality lcd tv to watch the games on was incentive enough for my mates to contribute!

How to save money in Disney world and the other Disney parks?

We will be going in September. We have our hotel booked and plane tickets purchased. Are there any ways to save on rooms, if we already booked them and have used AAA to get a good discount? (We will be a group of 5, 2 adults 3 kids – 22 mos, 8 yrs, 13 yrs)

We plan on buying food outside the parks, for breakfast and snacks. We will need to buy a few meals in the parks or resort. Any tips on how to save money or where to eat? At least 2 sit down dinners, the rest can becounter service or whatever.

How about park tickets? I have looked practically everywhere, and can't get a break on tickets for more than $2 a piece.

Any money saving tips or tricks would be great!

My family and I love to eat at Cosmic Rays – which is a counter service restaurant in Tommorwland of Magic Kingdom. It is cheap, the portions are huge (which means the kids could split – and actually, for the adults, you could split a grilled chicken Caesar salad…they are fantastic there!). In addition to the food savings, the kids will be entertained by the animatronic Alien Lounge Lizard who sings, plays piano, and is actually pretty funny.

Also, in MGM, the Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre is fun and not too bad on the wallet. It is entertainment for the kids (movies and "car-tables", good service (from waitresses on rollerskates) and the food is good enough for my family to go EVERY time we go back.

Other than that, Disney is an awfully pricey place to eat and stay. I will tell you though that for many of the restaurants, the price is worth the experience. Allow me to share with you my favorite picks from Disney cuisine:

Steaks: La Cellier (Canada, EPCOT) or Concourse
Steakhouse (Contemporary Resort).

Seafood: Cape May Cafe (seafood lover's dream buffet)

American: Sci-Fi Dine In (MGM) or Turkey Legs in
Frontierland (Magic Kingdom)

Asian: Japanese Steakhouse (Japan – EPCOT) or
Polynesian Luau (Polynesian Resort)

Character Meal: Dinner at Chef Mickey's (Contemporary)

Hope this helps!

How much money do you save on oil by keeping your thermostat at home at a lower temperature?

My parents insist on keeping our house about 65 degrees in the winter in order to save on oil, which in turn saves money. About how much more would it cost to heat the house say 5 more degrees?
The house was built it the 1950, so It's probably not very well insulated like newer homes would be.

1 degree in my house costs $40-$60 a month

How do you make extra money as a kid?

I already do chores around the house. And I babysit animals when their owners go away but I need more. People don't drive past my house so I can't have a lemonade stand and my mom won't drive me somewhere else so I can have it there. I am only Eleven so I can't babysit yet. How do I make extra money?

Go door to door in your neighborhood looking for work. (((NOTE: Only go to people you and your parents are familiar with – and TRUST))). Expain how you are looking to make some extra money for the summer and if they have anything that needs to be done.

If your a smart 11 years old, can follow instructions and complete tasks and chores as directed, you should have no problems finding some extra work. Just don't do anything your not capable of, or not experienced in (cutting wood w/ axe or chainsaw, dropping trees, cleaning out gutters, trapping animals).

Look for small yard chores (cleaning out flower beds, raking, spreading mulch, raking grass, washing cars, washing down driveways, sweeping stoops, small painting jobs (fences), walking pets, pet sitting or weeding). Just make sure a parent know what your doing, who your working for and give them times as to where you'll be. I have to do all these little chores myself because my kids aren't quit old enough to do them and there are no reliable kids in the area. Do a good job for one and you may get a reference for another job.

I made a fortune as kid finding and selling golf balls at a golf course by my house. These days, it would not be a good idea to be wandering the woods by yourself.

How can i save money on livery bills ect?

I was wondering how i could possibly save a bit of money on livery bills. My new loan pony will need to be on full livery and as i am not as ”well off” as others down at my yard, i was wondering on how i could save money on livery bills.
Serious answers only please, thanks x
My yard is a riding school yes (:

you could change your livery…
if you keep him/her at a riding stables you could put them on working livery, where the horse can be used in riding lessons in exchange for a cheaper livery.
if possible theres part livery – the yard do some things for you eg maybe feed in the morning and turnout and you do other things, you would have to confirm what as it varies, again this will lower your bill more than full livery.
diy livery – you do everything all you pay for is the paddock and stable sometimes starw may be included etc…vey cheap.

if you cant change your livery find somebody tho loves to ride but cant have a horse of their own they could pay say £20 a week to you and be able to ride the horse on 3 days..this way you get money towards upkeep and also get the horse exersised and possibly some stable chores! theres always a competent teenager willing to do this.

hope this helps :)

Can you really save money by unplugging electrical equipment?

Can you actually save a decent amount of money by unplugging things like cable boxes, microwaves, etc.?

I've taken to shutting things down when I leave for work, but there's really no way I'll be able to determine how much I'll save. If it's not significant enough I'd rather not bother – waiting for the cable to reboot is a pain!

We have two cable boxes with associated TVs and DVDs that get shut down along with our clean air machines. Is it worth it?

I wouldn't worry to much about cable boxes. I think when you turn them off at power button they go into a power saving mode.

As for other devices.

They have various gadgets out to help you with your problem! First I found is something called a green plug. Its suppose to help cut back power usage on stuff like refrigerators ect.

Another is a Kw/hr monitor it records the usage per item.

Check these out see if its something you willing to try out.

Both links are from Amazon but i'm sure you can look at places like radio shack or hardware stores.

Does anyone know of a legite website to make extra money?

Is there any websites out there that are legite to make extra money from home. I know there is alot of different ways over the internet, but which one's are real?

There are a couple different options where you can have a steady income. I'm not sure how much money you want to be making each month, so I'll go over two options.
Your first option is to apply for a home job. Understand that home jobs really don't give you an opportunity to really go anywhere in life. They are just jobs and nothing more except you get the pleasure of working out of your home. Home based jobs only pay minimum wage. After taxes, your take home is under minimum wage. If this is sufficient amount of income for you, then here's a couple web sites where you can go and apply for the job. I won't guarantee that you will receive a job. There are a massive amount of people in search for ways to earn an income from home these days, so home job positions are filling up rather rapidly creating long waiting lists and the majority of the people applying to not receive the positions.

http://www.homecareerinfo.com/0235/mt… http://www.apply.westathome.com/…

Your other option to make a sufficient amount of income working from your own home is to get involved in a home based business. There are hundreds of home based business opportunities out there. You just need to find the one that interests you the most. Understand that home based businesses are not jobs, they give you an incredible opportunity to make an incredible amount of income. But you have to be willing to work for it. Most are not hard manual labor either, most are pretty simple to do, but you have to take the time to build a business. Most home based businesses cost under $500 to start up. You have the same income opportunity as a traditional business, but without all the over head expenses. Most everything in your home becomes a tax write off. Things you use on a daily bases like your telephone, Internet, cellular phones, electricity, gas or propane (I heard some people have propane not gas), even car expenses all become tax write off's. So having a home based business, it's an incredible opportunity to have.

A friend of mine created a blog on home based business opportunities. She has over half a dozen good businesses to take a look at to get involved in and have an opportunity to make whatever amount of money you want to make. There's a lot of information on her blog on scams and what to look for, information on businesses and the BBB, things on blogs, reports (such as ripoff reports or watchdog reports etc). A lot of really good information to read and learn about.

How much money should i excpect to save for my first child?

I am almost 20 years old and i am 6 weeks pregnent. My boyfriend and i are working hard to save money for the baby but neither one of us knows how much money we should be saving at least to be in the clear? Any advice would help.

Kudos to you two for thinking ahead! It's a sign you can be great parents.

You want to save every penny you can.

There are a few things you don't need to spend money on – bottles, formula, crib, changing table, stroller, most clothes.

Nurse your baby for at least two years. Not only is it cheaper, but your baby will be far healther, no ear infections which are ungodly painful – and formula lowers iq and causes diabetes.

Cribs – little prisons for babies. They evolved to sleep with mommy and should – it helps nursing relationship, helps mommy sleep.

Changing table – ridiculous, babies squirm so much it's better to change them on the floor.

Stroller – silly detachment tool – get a sling.
clothes – if you have a nice enough climate, most babies and toddlers prefer to spend their time in their diapers.

Lots of baby books, like 'what to expect' preach detachment. They tell you that you will be sad to separate from your baby but your baby won't. These are bizarre lies people are telling themselvse for obvious reasons – to justify not parenting once they become parents. Read books by people who actually love and care about kids – Dr. Sears "The Baby Book," Penelope Leach's book, Brazeltons – The Irreducible Needs of Children, and the fabulous essays at Natural Child Project: http://www.naturalchild.org

Read a lot about nursing, go to la leche league.org and get connected locally so you have the support you need. Avoiding those ear infections that come from bottle use will make learning this ancient skill so valuable – without even considering all the other money saving health benefits and emotional and intellectual bennies.
It would be good to look into getting an annual membership to museums/children museums/parks etc – places you'll love to take your baby and want to have paid when you're not scrimping and saving. Start getting board books and picture books at yard sales or library sales.

Figure our your living expenses and save enough to meet those on one salary. We went deeply into credit card debt to live after the birth of our son and it was worth it, but savings would have been nice!

I tried to work, thinking it was the right thing for all of us. Not only does the research show it is a disaster, my son was with his devoted, doting dad and screaming bloody murder for me night after night. Babies need their mommies and the very most important thing you can give your baby is no separation from mommy in the first three years or so of life. The rewards in your baby's health, intellect, emotional stability, independence (yes, getting what you need makes you independent!), and the health of your family will outweigh any sacrifice. (Yes, the NICHD research that shows day care is so bad for kids, even if daddy is the 'day care' also shows that day care use hurts the family bonding.)

I'd look into spending some money on a marriage license and using it. Overall, a child has a much better chance if mum and dad are married. Especially when times get so overwhelming tough as they do in the baby's early days – tough offset by incredible bliss – it's good to have that committment. Sometimes, the committment is the only thing that holds a relationship together and sometimes, especially at times of major upheavel, relationships need all the help they can get.
