How can I save my money up for something important?
I'm trying to save money up for something really expinsive.I'm only 12 so I can't run my own buiness.please help me!
First of all I would like to congratulate you on setting a goal! Many people can't do that when they are over 40. Do you get an allowance? Do you babysit or anything else for money? If you do, ask your parents to take you to their bank to open up a bank account for you. Once you earn any money at all, take up to 75% of it and deposit it into the bank account. The 25% is for your spending money since it is difficult to deal with no money. If you are able to put away more than that, do it. You will be surprised at how fast it adds up. I do hope that you continue to save your whole life. Because you have time on your side(being 12 and all), you have the opportunity to accumulate a fortune during your lifetime. Once you have a job, plus expenses like clothes, gas for the car etc., make sure you deposit at least 10% of every dollar you earn. Think of it at a bill or expense that you have to pay and it will become habit.
Ask your parents if you save up a certain amount of money if they will match it. If your parents can't, perhaps you can ask your grandparents. With a goal like this, they will see that you are responsible and might be willing to help.
Good luck and I do hope you reach your goal! Keep it up and retire a millionaire!

Have your parents open a savings account and start contributing 1/3-1/2 of your allowance every week.

When I was younger I always worked it out with my parents. I would ask if there were extra chores I could do in order for them to pay for part of what I wanted. If you did that and let family members know that you are saving for something you really really want and that you'd rather have cash for birthday and Christmas instead of gifts then you should be able to save enough to buy what you are wanting.

talk to someone at the post office, i know they have good stuff there. it would depend weather you want to save regularly, irregularly or with a lump sum.
